A woman heard a heartbeat from an underfloor pipe and looked inside to investigate. It was then that she saw two big eyes looking back at her!
This was a mama dog with her newborn puppies all cuddling.
She went home to get some food and returned. Immediately after placing the bread outside the pipe opening, the mother dog came to get it.
Her limp was noticeable, but she was hungry and wanted to protect her babies.
The woman gathered the puppies and temporarily cleaned an old chicken coop for the family to live in. Alma was diagnosed with a dislocated hip, was malnourished, and needed medication after a vet trip.
A hip surgery is scheduled for the mama, and the puppies will be adopted as soon as they’re ready. The dog family gets a second chance, thanks to Catalina!
